Super Affiliate Blogger

I recently bought a copy of Gobala Krishnan’s new Super Affiliate Blogger package. In this package, Gobala has designed a package to guide and assist both new and experienced affiliates in expanding their affiliate sales businesses.
First, he’s got a great ebook called — guess what — Super Affiliate Blogger! There’s the obligatory sections on selecting a niche, a focus for your affiliate sales. More to the helpful point, much of the book is details on using the free blog software WordPress as your web site. Not just usable as a blog, WordPress also lets you create static web pages that you can use for landing pages for pay-per-click ad systems. Combined with the plug-ins and themes he’s included, you can get the "blog look" of WordPress under control. Of course, you can use the blog functions to post articles and keep your site well-positioned in Google, too.
The package also includes special themes, programs and plug-ins for use with affiliate sales, including an affiliate link redirection system, an opt-in form manager, a google sitemap generator, a search-engine-optimization (SEO) plugin, a social bookmarking plug-in and a special widgit for affiliate marketing.

BIG Memorial Day Special

I had just seen someone’s ad for an ebook about FavIcons, the
little icons that show in Internet Explorer’s address bar –
and that shows as a Windows Desktop icon if you make a shortcut on the Desktop.
I had seriously considered it,but hadn’t bought it — and I’m glad that I didn’t.
It is one of the MANY items included in this $7 sale… as well as a bunch of other ebooks for personal and/or resale (the rights vary by item and a few are for personal use only).

Among all the other articles, graphics and ebooks was a software package I’d was considering called “Word To Web Page” — and again, happily, I hadn’t bought it yet!
This little jewel is designed to take Word documents and automatically fit them with headers, footers and Google Ad blocks.
All I bought all these and many more for the grand price of $7…
New Version of WordPress Blog Software

Wordpress.org released version 2.1, codenamed Ella (for jazz singer Ella Fitzgerald) in mid-January.
So far, I like the changes and improvements. Upgrading from the previous version was easy, although it required locking the site and deleting almost all the previous WordPress files and replacing them with the new versions of the files. This step was necessary because some of the files were renamed (so old file names were obsolete).
Fortunately I didn’t have to rework any of my template customizations.
The only problem I had was that I accidentally uploaded my revised .htaccess file, the one with the password protection turned on, into my account’s root directory — and managed to password lock ALL of my web pages in all my domains. Arghhh! Resolving the problem was easy once I figured out what I did…
Good and bad points of web design templates

Andrew West has a very interesting article about using purchased web site templates in his Wongablog.
After starting with a relative’s purchased site template, he finally bit the bullet and redesigned it using CSS instead of the tables design.
